The story began pre-independence in Gujarat with the establishment of the flagship firm Mangaldas Venichand, started by Late. Mr. Mangaldas Venichand. In 1965, the main visionaries of the group, Late. Mr. Jayantilal Mangaldas Shah and Late. Mr. Kumarpal Mangaldas Shah heralded an era of diversification with the export of high-quality Indian onions and potatoes which is the core business of the multi-diversified group. Our firm was amongst the first to export Indian Onions way back in 1960. Over six decades of learning, we have successfully developed various varieties of onions by diversifying into contract farming.
While the organization has firmly established its presence in multiple sectors, trading of agriculture commodities remains integral to operations, retaining its status as the flagship business of the group, often contributing to over 50% of the annual revenues. The other business verticals constitute of wholesaling and retailing of building materials, leasing of built to suit industrial facilities, distribution of polymers and retailing of agricultural products (under its own brand, HappiFresh).
Insightful planning and efficiency in execution contributed massively to Sanghar Group’s surge to the pinnacle of global excellence, celebrating plenty of milestones on the way. Today, the Sanghar’s 200-member family is spread across 4 cities; Pune, Mumbai, Nashik and Chennai.
